This year so far…. (A Viewer’s appreciation post)

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope y’all are having the best of the time in 2020! So, today is my last post for this year and I wanted it to be for you guys. I want to thank you all so much for supporting the blog since the beginning (in June). I don’t know how my page would do if y’all weren’t there. I really appreciate the support y’all have given to the page. Thank you all so much for liking and commenting your thoughts on the posts. You guys made this possible and for that I thank y’all from the bottom of my heart again.

So, today I have one interesting thing to share with y’all. I have recently been nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by arguably two of my favorite bloggers out there. Thank you Sara, Ricatography and Keith for nominating me for the award. Do Check out their links by clicking on their name.

What is this Award?

If y’all don’t know what a Blogger Recognition Award is, let me explain. So, this was created in 2014, and it celebrates the creative people who bring the world of blogging to life through their online expressions. There are some rules to it where the chosen blogger should answer some simple questions on their blogs and nominate new bloggers too. So, some of the questions I will answer are: –

Before the year ends what would you like to accomplish?

I don’t have any particular wish to fulfil for this year at the moment. Y’all have fulfilled a lot of wishes for me which I didn’t even expect to happen. Although, I do see that I have 298 WordPress followers at the moment, so if that number goes to 300 then I would be very happy. But at the same time, I have accomplished a lot, for the planning that I had for this year.

How did The Antique Economist start?

The sphere of blogging came to me in a college assignment last year, and somehow I got way to interested in it. I am an econ student so I thought to write on topics on Economics. Sadly, that didn’t help much with the traffic at first. And, I realized that I have to make something unique and something interesting for the readers. So, I decided to mix econ topics with real life happenings, but in such a way that people find it interesting. Hence, I named my blog The Antique Economist.

What have you learned from your blogging friends?

I have been on twitter for a long time and one glaring thing I have noticed is the word count. Whenever I have posted a big blog, many have told me that it was too long. So, with the series, I decided to make the posts short and precise and somehow it’s working. Also, being in the writing community helps so much with ideas. To be honest, I got the idea of a series from a fellow blogger as well.

Any advice for New Bloggers?

To all the new bloggers, who are planning to open up their page, I will say only two things. Firstly, follow your passion. If you have a certain niche, you are very good at and want to share with the world, Just Do It. Secondly, have faith in yourself. If you know what to write, then go on with it. Also, be a part of the community and help other creators too. You should help others in order to receive help. That way you will be a part of this amazing virtual world.

These are some of the bloggers you should definitely give a visit. They have some awesome content too: –

  1. Paul at https://chiddicksfamilytree.com/
  2. Kalin at https://abundanceofflavor.com/
  3. Monique at http://www.lifebeginsattwenty.com/
  4. Linz at https://sweetsourgirl.wordpress.com/
  5. KKoszeghyova at https://claireswritingideaspoetry.wordpress.com/
  6. Devashni at https://heavenofpoetries.wordpress.com/

  8. Peertopeer at https://mypeertopeer.wordpress.com/
  9. Esther at https://cozywithbooks.wordpress.com/
  10. Sahil at https://mythyetpragmatic.wordpress.com/

And lastly, I want to talk about my plans for 2021. If y’all have not noticed yet, this is my 15th post in 7 months. I plan to maintain 2 posts/ month for 2021. I even have plans to start a new series too. I also have plans to open up an Instagram page for the blog as well. Also, if possible I would like join in for some podcasts and some guest posts too. Who knows what’s there in the future. But, I do have a wish to reach 500 awesome followers on the page before 2021 ends.

If you enjoyed reading this post, do drop a like. Comment below your plans for 2021. If you are new to the page, a sub would be phenomenal. Do check out my previous posts too. If y’all didn’t know I do have a Pinterest page, do check it out. You can follow me on Twitter too as well. Stay tuned for more amazing content by The Antique Economist. Till then Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to all.

  1. Congrats, Arpan, it was a pleasure to nominate you for the blogger recognition award. I am glad you are doing so well in running your blog, and in no time you are going to hit your target of 300 followers. You have nominated some wonderful bloggers, some I know, and some I love to! Congratulation to all of them, and wish them all the best! Take care.
